Duncan Excavating

Where the work happens

Ground covered across the Cowichan Valley

Duncan Excavating covers the Cowichan Valley from Cowichan Bay to Lake Cowichan, including Mill Bay, Cobble Hill and Shawnigan Lake. Ground conditions differ sharply across that distance: the valley floor holds river sand and gravel to about 30 metres, while near-surface bedrock less than 1 metre down is mapped across most of the Malahat Ridge area.

Four communities, four different answers to the same question. This page is organised around what is under the ground rather than around drive time, because the ground is what decides the machine, the method and the price.

Work also runs across North Cowichan, the City of Duncan and the surrounding electoral areas of the Cowichan Valley Regional District, where the governing authority changes but the ground does not stop at a boundary.

Anyone with a property anywhere in the Cowichan Valley is welcome to request a quote, and the ground gets assessed on site rather than inferred from a postal code.
